If you are a follower ofRefugee Resettlement Watch you know I’m on a roadtrip in the American heartland. I’m visiting refugee resettlement hot spots in a month-long tour.
Yesterday I was in Janesville, Wisconsin, Speaker Paul Ryan’s hometown, and had an opportunity to meet with some local citizen activists to tell them what to expect if Janesville should be targeted as a new resettlement site.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Ryan’s tenacious competitor Paul Nehlen.
Editor: I am now over 1,200 miles from home and expect to put 4,000 or more miles on my car during my month-long swing through America! More as I get a few minutes at the computer.
Reporter Julia Hahn at Breitbarthas been following the campaign closely. If you haven’t seen some of her good work, go here, here and here.
Here is how Hahn began her latest news on the campaign:
At a press conference held in front of Kenosha News, Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen demanded that House Speaker Paul Ryan take down his deceptive Wisconsin TV ads, in which Ryan claims he’s trying to keep Islamic terrorists from entering the country.
As speaker, Paul Ryan should be asked repeatedly in the coming weeks (the primary is August 9th) if he will cut funding for Obama’s promised expansion of the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program for 2017 (Obama’s last decision on the program will be due before Congress in late September).
The primary is August 9th!
Visit Nehlen’s campaign website and consider donating to the only candidate who could stop Ryan’s open borders impulse! If we get Hillary in the White House and Paul Ryan as Speaker, we are finished. America’s borders will be flung open and a free-for-all unleashed as the third world rushes in.
If you have a few days to spare, contact the campaign and do a road trip to Wisconsin’s first district and give a hand!
Wow! People across the heartland of America are beginning to understand what is happening to them!
This is a must-watch video of a local TV news reporter exposing the Partnership for a New American Economy’s joint effort with Open Borders activists like Welcoming America and the US Refugee Admissions Programto make sure a steady supply of cheap labor is distributed to your towns and cities.
Also exposed is a classic and pernicious campaign that is underway to manipulate public opinion!
For background see our post from January about Rupert Murdoch and his rich elitist pals at the Partnership for a New American Economy. And, then see our post just last week at Refugee Resettlement Watch about the selection of the 20 cities where citizens are going to get the full-court propaganda press to “welcome” their replacement population.
See also Leo Hohmann’s more detailed report on what these big-wigs have planned for 20 cities. This is what I said at WND:
“They want to manipulate the minds of the community and get Americans to believe mass immigration is going to be good for them, that they’re all going to benefit from the influx of more and more migrants,” said Ann Corcoran, author of the Refugee Resettlement Watch blog. “It’s a mind game to soften up the receiving communities.”
I have too much to do today to properly tell you all about how remittances (money sent by immigrants out of the US economy) are used to prop up economies around the world.
And, no time to tell you about how terrorism is funded with some of that money, or that many of those dollars are taxpayer dollars you contributed to legal and illegal migrants through your welfare ‘charity.’
Or, how many of those dollars were stolen from the Food Stamp program.
And, the dream of remittances sent back to Central America is why those countries don’t curtail the flight of tens of thousands of their youths to the American border. (spike coming!) ‘Leaders’ there assume the kids will send money ‘home.’
I’ve written a good bit over the years about the remittance game and how it is a major driver of immigration to America. See posts hereat RRW.
This is what the Washington Post said yesterday about the Trump plan (it even brought Obama to the podium to chastise Trump).
Suffice it to say, I am happy the issue has been so publicly mentioned because I don’t think most Americans understand how many billions of dollars leave the US every year through remittances and how that is a major reason migrants come here (to send money ‘home,’ not because they want necessarily to be American citizens!).
WASHINGTON — Donald Trump would try to force Mexico to pay for a border wall by targeting billions of dollars in remittances sent by immigrants living in the U.S., according to a memo released by his campaign Tuesday.
The memo outlines in new detail how Trump would try to compel Mexico to pay for the 1,000-mile wall he’s promised to build along the Southern border if he becomes president.
In his proposal, Trump threatened to change a rule under the USA Patriot Act, an anti-terrorism law, to cut off a portion of the funds sent to Mexico through money transfers known as remittances. His plan would also bar non-Americans from wiring money outside of the U.S. unless they can provide documentation establishing their legal status in the country.
Trump said he would withdraw the threat if Mexico makes a one-time payment to finance the wall.
“It’s an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year,” the memo reads.
By the way, the Dems are quick to tell us that food stamp dollars and other welfare payments to indigent immigrants fuels the US economy as those dollars return via goods and services purchased.
Isn’t it time we find out exactly how our tax dollars prop up third world nations through uncontrolled movement of those dollars out of the country?
The Republicans who are running the House and Senate should be investigating the loss to the US economy of the billions leaving the country via remittances, wall or no wall (Trump or no Trump!). So, where have they been?
Well, maybe not your chain dear readers, because you get it, but for those not steeped in policy discussions on a daily basis. Casual voters and skimmers of the news are particularly vulnerable.
Get out your tissues! Rather than arguing the logic (illogic from our point of view) of federal initiatives—like the mass migration push of the Progressive Left, they always manage to get sympathetic stories about immigrants and refugees planted throughout the media in an effort to reach your emotions with the hope that you will forget your brains!
This is a ‘story’ from last week at the Daily Beastand it’s all about how a Muslim woman is now a US citizen thanks to Reagan’s 1986 (disastrous for us) amnesty. The title of the ‘story’ is: ‘A Muslim woman brought here by Reagan. Pushed away by Trump.’
The ‘story’s’ hook is Nancy Reagan’s passing. And, by the way, Farhana (the sympathetic star of the ‘story’) was not “brought here by Reagan.” Her father got in here illegally from Bangladesh and was granted amnesty (along with millions of other illegals) by Reagan.
Now Farhana, who always voted Republican (we are told) is being driven away from the political party she loves by Trump’s language. I don’t need to go on, you get it, as if the Daily Beast cares one wit about one less Republican voter.
My point here is that we need to play the ‘story’ game every chance we get!
Those of us using our logic and reason when looking at public policy issues need to play their game more often—the let’s tell a ‘story’ game.
For example, I never miss an opportunity to remind readers of that brutal rape and murder by a Muslim refugee of a little Christian girl in Salt Lake City a few years ago. I reported it again here yesterday.
(And, by the way, the national media never picked up this ‘story’ even as the sensational trial went on for many weeks. Why? Because it didn’t fit the mainstream media’s narrative!)
Then there is theIraqi refugee rapist who was living in Colorado Springs before he was sent to prison for the next 28 years, and the Kentucky refugee jihadists now doing time in federal prison. Grrrr! You paid for their resettlement to America and now you will pay for their decades behind bars.
You get my drift. If the Open Borders Progressive Left is going to inundate the media with sympathetic migrant stories, you should be doing the same with the unsympathetic ones.
Don’t make anything up or exaggerate—just remember to use emotion as a strategic (powerful) political weapon when you write.
If they can use Farhana’s story, you can balance it with Met’s story!
It happened on Friday in her home town of St. Louis; the 91-year-old founder of the Eagle Forumjoined Trump on the stage on the same day that Ben Carson (another strong Christian with a large following) endorsed Trump—a man many self-righteously call a ‘sinner.’
Since when are we electing a ‘pastor-in-chief?’ That is what I want to know!
I only met Mrs. Schlafly once, just over a year ago, and found her unbelievably mentally sharp for a woman in her 9th decade. And, of course was immediately drawn to her because her greatest concern for America is mine as well, and that is a deep foreboding about what mass migration and uncontrolled Muslim immigration to America would do to the fabric of our Christian nation.
She obviously decided that Donald Trump was the only candidate who is willing and able to take on a massive, and what will be a dirty fight, to save our Judeo-Christian heritage and frankly Western civilization!
Call me senile, but that is all that matters this year.
Here is the Washington Poston the endorsement (emphasis is mine). The article begins with a discussion about Cruz courting the Schlafly endorsement:
But in the last few months, it became clear that Cruz might lose Schlafly’s support to a member of her hated “eastern elites.” After the first primary debate, Schlafly credited Trump with steering the Republican Party’s discussion of immigration away from amnesty and toward deportation. When Trump called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, Schlafly told readers of her syndicated column that his idea was constitutionally sound. In a December interview with WorldNetDaily, Schlafly wondered whether it was time for the grass roots to back Trump.
“He does look like he’s the last hope,” Schlafly said. “We don’t hear anybody saying what he’s saying. In fact, most of the people who ought to be lining up with him are attacking him.”
The next month, in an interview with Breitbart News, Schlafly said that Trump seemed to be best positioned to defeat the “kingmakers” of the Republican establishment, but that Cruz should be his first Supreme Court nominee.
“That’s the place I think Cruz should go,” Schlafly explained. “He’s eminently qualified for that. And that would be a perfect solution for him … his qualifications are enormous.”
The news of Schlafly’s endorsement, broken by the conservative St. Louis blogger Jim Hoft, inspired quick criticism from the more mainstream right.
Watch for it, as Schlafly, who is very familiar with vicious attacks, will now come under withering fire—from Republican Party elites among others.
You’ve heard the news I’m sure, but in posting this the point I want to make is this:
The Left never gives up pushing the envelope. They wake up every morning planning their next big outrageous assault on our sovereignty, our Constitution, and our culture. We, who want to preserve America as founded, are constantly on the defense.
It is extremely rare for us to go on the offense, and that is why Donald Trump has been so upsetting to America on the Left andon the Right.
Only Trump this year attempted to do what the Left does in its sleep, push the political debate back in the ‘America First’ direction with his talk of “The Wall” and curtailing Muslim migration to America. More than the issues themselves, it is the pushback that has everyone so disturbed.
And, what do the buffoons on the political Right do, they fight Trump!
They don’t get-it (or don’t want to get-it) that the agitators on the Left, including Soros in this story, are constantly pulling the debate Leftward and our side needs a counterweight.
Our job is not to find the middle! Our job, the job of activists, is to pull the debate in our direction even if it sometimes sounds over-the-top (or we don’t look like nice people!).
Here is the storyat the New York Post that got me thinking about all this earlier this morning (hat tip: Joanne). NY pols want to make citizenship irrelevant. Hey, this is a “democracy” they say, and everbody in America should have a say in how it’s run!
New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito has long refused to pledge even ceremonial allegiance to the American flag. No surprise, then, that she displays no respect for American citizenship, either.
Mark-Viverito wants to grant voting rights to non-citizens — including, perhaps, illegal immigrants — in all municipal elections. And she’s not alone.
It’s all about making sure that New York never again suffers the presence of powerful Republicans.
Mark-Viverito’s short-term goal is to clear the way for immigrant voting in next year’s elections for mayor, comptroller, public advocate, borough president and City Council.
Support for the Mark-Viverito-Dromm scheme ranges from the left-leaning usual suspects to hard-core-crazy communists — with Citizens Action of New York (“We work to elect progressive candidates!”) leading the way; hyperpolitical unions like the Service Employees International Union and Communications Workers of America following; activists of all sorts bobbing along in the wake — and George Soros’ Open Society Institute writing lots of checks.
So what is the counterweight political position to illegal aliens being permitted to vote, it is to demand that we BUILD THE WALL! and generally limit mass immigration!
This story from May 2013 at Powerline blog tweeted by Mickey Kaus just now follows on the sametheme we reported yesterday—that Fox News (Rupert Murdoch) was in the tank for the Schumer-Rubio ‘Gang of Eight’ bill and was doing all it could to make you think that Marco Rubio was/is the great white hope for immigration reform.
This post is also intriguing on the morning after Senator Jeff Sessions (a champion for the American worker) endorsed Donald Trump for the Presidency (here).
I’ll say it again, whatever happens, we must thank Donald Trump for helping expose the establishment donor-class and how they (including Fox News!) have attempted to manipulate patriotic and good-hearted Americans for their own selfish goals and the financial advancement of globalist traitors.
Tonight, Sean Hannity had Marco Rubio on his show for an hour to advocate the Schumer-Rubio amnesty bill. The program was an embarrassment at two levels. First, as I feared, the format was heavily skewed in favor of Rubio and his position. Second, even with this skewing, Rubio’s main arguments were pathetic.
As to the format, Rubio spent roughly the first half of the program answering questions from Hannity. Some of the questions were good, but they were no substitute for debate. Hannity is not an expert on the legislation, and thus wasn’t in a position to challenge Rubio’s answers.
Why didn’t Fox have Jeff Sessions, for example, appear with Rubio to ensure the effective presentation of both sides? Probably because, as I understand it, Rubio refuses to appear with Sessions.
So can we expect an hour-long program in which Sessions or a comparably knowledgeable opponent of the anti-amnesty position appears with Hannity? Don’t hold your breath. The powers-that-be at Fox appear to be in the tank for the Schumer-Rubio bill.
